Edith Amituanai – Board Chair
Edith grew up in Te Atatu North and has lived in Ranui for 12 years now. Edith’s background is in Photography & teaching in the Visual Arts particularly in Tertiary Education sector for 10+ years and has a deep love for our Ranui community.
Pranil and family are long-time West Auckland locals with a deep commitment to serving West Auckland. Owner operator of our very own Fresh Choice here in Ranui but also Glen Eden FreshChoice, Titirangi SuperValue and Avondale SuperValue.
Liz is a newer Ranui resident who brings to Ranui Action Project experience in developing community based health programmes and in the business sector. Liz looks forward to getting involved in our community and making a difference.
Jewelz is of Maori descent from Nga Puhi, Te Rarawa with a strong background in Sport, Recreation and Health and has a Bachelor in Sport and Recreation and has completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Health Science. She has a strong background in working with the local West Auckland community through her current role with Sport Waitakere and previous role with Waitakere City Council. Jewelz currently lives in Ranui and has a strong passion for both community and youth development, is on the Summerland School PTA and coaches basketball.
Steven is relatively new to West Auckland and is the newest member of Ranui Action Project Board. Steven has over 22 years experience in Management and IT and has also been involved with various non-profit organisations. He is looking forward to his involvement in our community and to making a difference.
From her beginnings in Waimauku to her home now in Earthsong Eco Neighbourhood, Ranui, Dale has lived in Auckland always and is proud to be a JAFA. Her experience in community development, not for profits, small /medium business, and as group facilitator will be used to support the RAP team and our special Ranui community.
Christian has worked in the performing arts, hospitality and justice sectors. He and his partner have four children attending schools in West Auckland. Christian loves the stories of local people, culture and business. He believes in kindness, home cooked food, and drug and alcohol-free fun. He is proud and excited to be involved with RAP.
Ranui Action Project
Working for over 25 years in the nonprofit sector, Carol has a wealth of community experience at local and national level. Working in Adult literacy and Adult education, Carol brings to Ranui her unique experience in building relationships across tertiary, community and corporate sectors, and managing the development and implementation of projects. Carol enjoys being part of the RAP team working in our amazing community.
Pania Taka Brown
My role with Rānui Action Project is Kaitakawaenga – Community Broker Māori Led Development. I enjoy working with the community of Rānui, engaging with whānau to strengthen social connections, support shared visions and collaborating with other services.

I am Maori, Samoan and also have Irish and English whakapapa (geneology).
I have had the privelage of working with Ranui Action Project for the last six years.
The whakatauki of Ranui Action Project “Me puāwai tātou katoa i roto i te kotahitanga o Rānui” gifted by Matua Dennis Hansen advises us to progress together in unity.
Work in Community Development focuses on creative and strength based solutions, respecting the voice and the energy of all, to create the community we want to live in.
It is with gratitude that I bring my life experience in my previous roles in public health and education to the team at Ranui Action Project.
I continue to enjoy serving my community and look forward to supporting future projects.
